Let’s face it – all your favorite musicians of the past and present smoked a little something to draw inspiration. It wasn’t just one type of musician, it spanned multiple genres: rock, pop, rap, reggae, jazz and country. These legends have praised the creative benefits of flower in and outside of music.
At Budkups we aren’t musicians, but we also need a little inspiration every now and again, and we’re sure you do too. Here are a few of our favorite tunes to celebrate the ritual of consumption.

1. "James Joint" by Rihanna
‘I’d rather be smoking weed, whenever we breathe’
This Barbadian beauty is no stranger on the weed scene. She was squeaky clean when she came on the music scene but by her third album, we loved the new and improved Rihanna. This song is from her eighth studio album and by then we’d seen plenty of paparazzi photos of Rihanna with a joint in her hand – and making it look very sexy, might we add.
2. "Roll Another Joint" - Tom Petty
3. "Do It" by Miley Cyrus
‘Yeah, I smoke pot. Yeah, I love peace. But I don’t give a f**k, I ain’t no hippie’
Another squeaky-clean teen queen, Miley Cyrus struggled to break out of her Hanna Montana shell. Let’s just say she gets it from her mama, who she called out for being a ‘big stoner’ and the inspiration behind some of her stoner songs.
4. "How High" by Method Man & Redman
Is this one too obvious? :)
5. "A-Yo" by Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga has been known to perform through the pain. She has had chronic pain and surgeries throughout her entire career and she is not shy about letting her fans know that marijuana has eased her pain gotten through some tough times.
6. "Pass The Dutch" by Missy Elliott
7. "Devil Pray" by Madonna
The original ‘bad girl’ of music didn’t get that title by always following the rules. She’s never been shy about her love of cannabis. She commemorated her 62nd birthday in Jamaica with a photo of herself holding a plate of weed with a joint hanging from her lips.
8. "Get High Tonight" by Busta Rhymes
9. "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix
10. "Rainy Day Women #12 & 25" by Bob Dylan
11. "High By The Beach" by Lana Del Ray
Same, Lana. Same.
12. "Let’s Go Get Stoned" by Ray Charles
13. "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd
14. ‘Mary 3x’ by Wiz Khalifah
15. "Mary Jane" by Rick James
16. "I Got 5 On It" by The Luniz

How could we leave Snoop Dogg off the list?
